The Headliners Difference

A family business started by a studio owner and her daughter, her competition team director. Headliners is proud to celebrate 34 years of honesty and integrity in the competition industry. A true competition experience for studios of all sizes and dancers of all levels. Inclusive and fun, Headliners events aim to create a positive & memorable experience where dancers can learn & grow.

3 Levels of Competition

Novice, Intermediate, and Competitive. All levels have their own overalls. Top 3 for Novice and Intermediate. Top 5 in Competitive, except for Solos which can be up to the top 10. Competitive level is also eligible for titles and scholarships.

3 Scoring Criteria

Headliners scores routines based on Technique and Presentation

Levels Based on Ability

Level placement is based on skills and class time. See brochure for outline of what skills are allowed in each level.

Limited Entries

Headliners commits to 1 stage per regional event. Limited entries = realistic start and end times. Friday events begin after school hours.

Trophy or Charity Program

Studios/dancers have the option to donate the value of their trophy to 1 of 6 charities partnered with Headliners. Donate to some or all during the registration process.

Highly Qualified Judges

Judges must go through a vetting process including review of training and teaching experience. In addition, they must all submit 5 or more critiques of various levels and dance forms prior to being hired.

Cash Prizes at Nationals

Headliners is proud to award some of the largest CASH prizes at our National Championships, including additional prizes for our Platinum Circle Dance Off!

Mission Statement

Incorporated in 1989, Headliners is an educationally based, goal-oriented competition.
A true competition experience, we aspire to provide a fun, encouraging event for studios and dancers of all sizes, levels and abilities while staying true to our mission of proper training, education, family and commitment.
Headliners was the first competition to provide free photo and video to the studios and dancers that attend our events. Headliners was the first competition to offer levels based on skills. Our primary goal is how to better serve you.
