With students currently starring on Broadway and the Metropolitan Opera stages and in movies such Stephen Spielberg’s production of WEST SIDE STORY, Rolann has decades of experience training young dancers, actors, and vocalists. Her vast knowledge of music theater and dance earned her the appointment by President Bill Clinton to the Distinguished Teachers’ White House Commission on Presidential Scholars and was honored to be a part of the American Passport for PBS, as a featured Floridian. A former professional dancer, Rolann was the childhood partner of Michael Bennett. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Juilliard School and continued her dance studies with many original masters including Matt Mattox, Peter Gennaro, and Paul Draper. Her choreography and staging have been seen from Walt Disney World, serving as the WDW’s College Program Dance Director, to stages in Germany and Austria. For over fifteen years, Rolann served as the Chair of the International Dance Organization’s Tap Committee. Until recently, Rolann owned and operated her own dance studio and is now working with the Orlando Ballet and other dance organizations in Central Florida.
